Introducing the Jaramillo family

Hi! I’m Nichole Jaramillo.

I am very excited to be a new ABQ Mom contributor and have so much to share with you! Learning is my passion, so I’m constantly exploring and trying new things. This is something I refer to as my adult A.D.D., but this world is so big and I have so much to learn. Often, I’m knee deep in new adventures, ideas, books, podcasts, and more. So I lean heavily on my yoga practice to keep me grounded and centered.

About Me

I work full-time as a project manager and support my husband’s company, Be Mello Farms, with project management, business operations, and tending to the crop. Some of my interests and hobbies include practicing and teaching yoga, running with my crew at Mindful Movement and Wellness, essential oils, natural remedies, real estate investing, volunteering for Women United (an affinity group of United Way of Central New Mexico), and practicing my faith at San Felipe de Neri in Old Town. I juggle quite a bit, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. As you can imagine, my planner is my best friend and I live on life hacks!

My City

I was born and raised in Albuquerque. During high school, I was counting the days until I could move out and away. I applied to every college outside of New Mexico and eagerly moved to Los Angeles. Not too long after my move, I realized what a gem Albuquerque truly is. I moved back and vowed to never leave again. New Mexican culture, food, family, and views are unlike any other place I’ve visited and I am honored to call it my home….forever! My family and I enjoy exploring the city, but you can almost always find us in Old Town. If you have any questions about the one mile radius surrounding the plaza, I’m your gal!

Family

After moving back from college, I ran into my husband. We became good friends and spent many years building our friendship. Eventually, we realized that we were soulmates and went from best friends to husband and wife. We are blessed with three amazing children: Amari, Santiago, and Gemma. They each have their own personalities and interests, so we’re well versed in flexibility and adaptation. As parents, we strive to teach our children a strong work ethic, our Catholic faith, and mindfulness. We spend a lot of time outdoors, riding bikes, taking walks by the river, camping, and exploring. Our children are involved in sports, are avid swimmers, and love having fun!

ABQ Mom

I’d love to share the method to my madness and help you find the right balance so we can truly have it all. Over the past few years, I have leaned heavily on ABQ Mom as a resource. I love knowing there is a community I can turn to for all things including activities for the kids, the “know” on venues in Albuquerque, and the candid, honest posts from other mother’s suffering from the same insecurities and vulnerabilities I face. I’m honored to be part of this community as a new contributor and look forward to sharing my trials, tribulations, and ah ha moments with you!
