Hi all, I’m Erin Rimorin.
About Me
I am a native New Mexican. Raised in Grants, New Mexico, I moved to Albuquerque eleven years ago. I graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Liberal Arts degree with concentrations in Family Studies and Peace Studies. Currently, I am a full-time student studying to get a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health. I think it is important to genuinely reach out, connect, and help others in life. Helping others is a passion of mine. I believe that as humans it’s crucial to connect and understand those around us.
I love to bake. Baking is a stress relief for me. I also enjoy yoga and outdoor activities that ground me.
A few years ago I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Lupus. This changed how I live life. It has its challenges but I know I can get through anything with my faith and the support of my family.
The Land of Enchantment
I moved to Albuquerque after graduating from high school. It was a new and exciting time in my life. During my time living in Albuquerque, I have met many amazing individuals that I cherish deeply. There is much to appreciate about New Mexico. Many of my family members live here. A few favorite things about Albuquerque are the culture, its many amazing local food and brew spots, the weather, and its beautiful landscape. No matter how things look, New Mexicans always find a way to come together. I am proud to call it my home.
My Family
I am currently a stay-at-home mom and have two beautiful children. They, along with my husband, are my blessings. I am so thankful for them. I met my husband in the spring of 2015. We have been inseparable ever since. My family loves being outdoors and frequently has dance parties in our living room. We enjoy cooking as a family, making art, and singing Disney princess songs.
ABQ Mom
I have always enjoyed writing. I think it reaches people in many ways just like music. Many different voices are heard through writing and that’s one thing I admire. When we write, it enables us to learn about ourselves, the people around us, and our communities. It allows others to connect. That’s what ABQ Mom brings to moms around New Mexico, and I am excited to be a part of that. I look forward to learning, growing, and sharing with many others as a new ABQ Mom contributor.
