Yearly Christmas Card Cover Printable :: Turning Cards Into Keepsakes

0

I wouldn’t say that I am good at making and keeping holiday traditions for my family. In the past, traditions have seemed like a lot of work and my kids were too little to really care. There is one tradition though that I have kept up with since before my daughter was born. It’s so easy that even the busiest of moms could do it! I keep all the Christmas cards we receive and turn them into little books with a yearly Christmas card cover and binder rings.

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is receiving Christmas cards from friends and family near and far. I eagerly sift through the mail to find those hand written envelopes and proudly display the cards in my home. When we first started receiving Christmas cards as a married couple, the few we got lived on my fridge long into the new year. I couldn’t bare to throw away pictures of my friends.

I still can’t bare the thought of tossing those cards filled with holiday cheer. So I keep them! Each January, I take the Christmas cards we received and punch two holes in them. Then I place them all on binder rings with a yearly cover on the top.

Now I have over eight years of Christmas cards from family and friends neatly organized by year. Our family loves to take them out every year with all our Christmas decor. It’s so much fun to see how everyone has grown and matured over the years. It’s also a great reminder of how the Lord has blessed us with friendships as the number of cards we get each year grows.

In the past, I have ordered my card covers from an Etsy Shop I found a while back. The covers were only five dollars and super easy to order. Typically though, I would forget to order them, or loose my log in information for Etsy and it quickly became a chore. So this past year, I created my own card cover for free! And today, I have included a printable in case you’d like to start this fun tradition for your family too.
