Holiday at Home Bucket List Filled with Memory-Making Activities

We’ve partnered with Comcast to create a simple Holiday at Home Bucket List.

Comcast offers amazing opportunities to help you stay connected.

Comcast Internet Essentials provides affordable home internet for qualifying households. In addition, they offer low-cost computers, free WiFi hotspots, and even internet training. If you qualify for programs like the Federal Pell Grant, National School Lunch Program, SNAP, Medicaid, housing assistance, and others, you may qualify for Internet Essentials.

Through the federal government’s Affordable Connectivity Program, lower-income households can connect to the internet and stay connected. The program provides eligible customers of participating broadband providers up to a $30 per month credit toward internet and mobile services.

Any other mamas feel the need to make the holidays extra special this year? As I scroll Pinterest and Instagram, I get overwhelmed and abruptly brought down to Earth. Working and mommying do not leave a lot of extra space to up the magic.

However, if the past couple years have taught me anything, it’s that there is still magic in the simple. Your holiday at home can be special and create some lifelong memories.

  • Write a letter to Santa

Click Here for a free printable Letter to Santa. Your child can receive a letter postmarked from Santa. Visit USPS.com for steps.

  • Christmas movie sleepover

Set up a living room floor sleepover. Camp out with some hot cocoa and a marathon of your favorite Christmas movies.

  • Cut down & decorate a Christmas tree

We’re lucky enough to have many National Forests within a few hours’ drive from Albuquerque. Check out our Guide to Tree Cutting and Three DIY Ornaments for Kids that You’ll Actually Want to Put on the Tree.

  • Put up luminarias

Luminarias are simple to make and a fun activity for the whole family. Once done, you can pack up everyone in the car and drive around looking at lights and luminarias around town. Check out our Guide to Lights and Luminarias for some of the best places around town to see holiday decorations.

  • Create a tiny Christmas village

Set up a Christmas village on your table or mantle. These can be bought decorations or made from paper and cardboard.

  • Deliver homemade treats to neighbors

Make your favorite holiday treats, and if you’re wanting to try something new, we recommend The Best Biscotti Ever.

  • Make a gingerbread house

This is a classic! Our contributor Erin recommends using pop tarts as a new spin!

  • Cuddle up in matching PJs

Find the cutest matching holiday pajamas and have everyone in the family wear them while hanging out on the couch.

  • Donate a toy or jacket to a local child

Donate or serve our community together as a family to reinforce that this truly is the season of giving. Here’s a list of some of our team’s favorite local nonprofits.

  • Christmas music karaoke

Rachel created The Ultimate Christmas Playlist for you this year and you can find it here!

  • Try a new recipe

The possibilities are endless with this one, but may we suggest a Simple Slow Cooker Chili, Yummy Balsamic Roast, or Spinach Sausage Pasta?

Thank you to Comcast for sponsoring this Holiday at Home Bucket list.
