There’s nothing better than a family dinner around the dining room table. Conversation, laughs, and good food are the key ingredients to making sweet family memories that will one day be known as “the good old days.” We know that a dining table, dishes, and décor are so much more than the wood and materials they are made of; they are the details that bring richness to our family memories.

We recently partnered with locally-owned American Home Furniture and had three moms from the ABQ Mom team decorate their dream tablescape. With the holidays right around the corner, our team created three unique tablescapes and provided tips on how you can bring functional design into your home.

Check out their designs below and vote for your favorite to be entered to win a $100 gift card to American Home Furniture. For extra entries, head to American Home Furniture by November 21, 2022 and see the tablescapes in person. An in-person vote counts as a double entry.

Roxanne’s Contemporary Farmhouse

“I like to style with textures and light and bright colors against a beautiful backdrop. A contemporary farmhouse design with a mixture of Boho/natural wood texture is my go-to. I also like to incorporate candles either as a main centerpiece or in the background– it just adds to the ambiance.” -Roxanne

Desiree’s Maxi Boho

“When playing with colors, use something as a color guide to bring all the colors together. This will help make the colors more uniform and not so chaotic. For example, in my color scheme, I used the table runner as a color guide to make sure the colors were still complementary.

Before you browse the internet for ideas, review the tablescape materials you already have and look for new ways to use them. You can search for new ways to use the materials you already have for a fresh new look at a low cost.” -Desiree

Mandie’s Southwest Chic

“Use contrasting textures! I made sure to find some metal elements (the mirror and the candle holder) to offset the wood table, and the fuzzy grey pillows and throw helped to tone down the teal plates as well as soften the space. Too much matching can be boring; liven up your space with something unexpected!” -Mandie
