How to Build a Comfy and Stylish Mom Uniform

0

It’s no secret that when you become a mom, lots of things change. Your body, your sleep schedule, how you spend your free time, and often, your wardrobe. Feeling comfy and confident is something that all moms want to feel, but if that feeling eludes you after having a baby, don’t be alarmed. You can build the mom uniform that feels right to you!

Clothing that is comfortable, affordable, and wearable is the key to any successful mom uniform. Logically that makes sense, but where to start?

Lots of moms opt for the very classic “mom uniform” of leggings/yoga pants and oversized t-shirts. If this look feels right to you–great! But if this style isn’t for you, but you don’t know what to do, that’s okay. Here are a few of my favorite tips:

1. Don’t Shy Away from New Colors

Black often feels like the safe choice, but there are also so many other neutrals. Try adding some new colors. It can definitely feel daunting; many women are afraid that bright colors will make them stand out when they don’t want to. While some colors may not work for you, you never know which ones will.

Thrift stores are a great place to purchase items to experiment with new colors. There are also lots of color theory options online to help guide you. Who knows, your new signature color may be out there!

If these sites don’t quite fit what you’re looking for, don’t give up! There are lots more out there.

2. Purchase a Comfortable Pair of Jeans

It doesn’t really matter where the jeans are from as long as they are comfortable. A lot of moms stray from jeans because they can be so uncomfortable. If you are a jeans girl, buy a pair that is enjoyable and versatile so you will be happy to wear them.

It can be paralyzing choosing a style because there are so many styles of jeans these days! Every body and personality is different–try using this jeans guide to help narrow down the search for the perfect pair.

3. You CAN Wear That!

How many times have you seen someone wearing a cute outfit and loved it and then thought “I wish I could wear that!” Here’s the thing–you can! Don’t be afraid to branch out into new prints or styles. If you’re drawn to something–give it a try!

Just like there’s no one way to be a mom, there’s no one way to dress like one.

“Mom” doesn’t mean frumpy, old, or outdated. Remember, moms are people too! You deserve to feel comfy and cute in your daily “mom uniform,” and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!
