The weather has cooled. Festive music is on the radio and in the stores. Hot coffees, teas, and cocoa have become a dietary staple. The to-do list grows by the day.

We all know how busy this season can be, so here are a few “mom must-haves” to give you a boost and help you feel put together even when things are chaotic.
Black Leggings
Leggings are so comfortable! The right black pair can be a stylish staple in your holiday wardrobe. Black leggings are available at all price points, making them such an easy go-to option. Look for cotton leggings, not Lycra, since you want them to be thicker than tights and not look like “gym” wear.
Dress them up with boots and a pretty sweater for a holiday party. Dress them down with a longer sweatshirt and sneakers for days spent running errands with the kiddos in tow. One of my favorite looks is black leggings under a long button down shirt. Add a pretty necklace and some cute flats for a bit of flair. You will look great while feeling cozy and accomplishing everything that needs done.
A Great Lipstick
My mom tells me and my sisters she can’t hear what we are saying if we aren’t wearing lipstick. While she may be kidding, it’s no joke that lipstick can instantly make you look and feel more put together.
Brighter colors perk up your complexion. Lighter colors can be pretty and unexpected during the holiday season. My favorite trick is to find a color just slightly darker than your natural lip color. You’ll look pretty and put together without feeling self conscious or worrying if it wears off during the day.
A Pretty Hair Accessory
During the holiday season, our hair can go through a lot! We heat style more often and the dry winters in New Mexico take a toll. Minimizing heat styling and washing can go a long way to maintaining moisture and shine. Having a go-to hair accessory helps for those days that you want to avoid a full wash and style session.
For short hair, pretty bobby pins or headbands can be the perfect accessory to switch things up. Look for something with sparkle. The dollar store is a best kept secret for hair accessory shopping. They often carry unique accessories and the price can’t be beat.
For long hair, a flat “updo claw clip” is a great option. You can pull your hair back stylishly, giving an alternative to the same old ponytail or messy bun. Simply twist hair and clip for a beautiful style that will last all day.
The holiday season can be a busy time of running on coffee and fumes. It’s important to practice self care and these mom must-haves are a way to give yourself a boost while checking things off your list.
