Plant-based diets are becoming more popular these days. However, finding a restaurant that has vegetarian/vegan options isn’t always easy.
My family and I have been mostly plant-based for almost two years and have found some great places that are kid friendly, vegan friendly, and absolutely delicious!
Here are some of our favorite places to visit in and around Albuquerque that can accommodate our lifestyle! The Acre
4410 Wyoming Blvd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87111
The Acre is definitely our favorite spot right now. It is 100% vegetarian, plus every thing on the menu can be made vegan! They have everything from “meat” loaf, pasta, hot dogs, and the BEST blue corn, red chile enchiladas. The brownies are heavenly and the atmosphere is great. They also have a great selection of local beers and wines.
2201 Silver Ave SE Albuquerque, NM 87106
This is a great restaurant and also has a ton of options. All of the breakfast choices are fantastic. The stir-fry is a MUST try and the salads are always fresh. They have great sandwiches and wraps as well. The Chai Tea Latte is the best Chai I have ever tasted, hands down.
834 US-550, Bernalillo, NM. 87004
Bosque is another local fav of ours. Although they don’t have too many vegetarian/vegan options, if you want to go to a local brewery that has a few options for everyone, this is a great spot. They have the Impossible Burger which is always our go-to. They also have cauliflower tacos that are to die for and a really great hummus plate made with Hatch Green Chile. The salads are always fresh and you can substitute the protein with the Impossible Patty.
3804 Central Ave SE Albuquerque, NM. 87108
The entire menu is amazing. The crispy chicken tastes exactly like chicken and they even have seafood dishes. (All of the meats are soy based!) Everything is fantastic and you can’t tell that it is vegan. The soups are always a great choice, and the freshy rolls are probably the best rolls I have ever tasted.
Chipotle is our favorite fast-food spot. The sofritas are a vegan option and you can add them to any of the meals they have. I always get a sofritas bowl. They kids love sofritas in a burrito with rice and black beans. This is great for quick lunch or dinner and there are several locations around the city.
