Guide to Free & Cheap Summer Movies in the Albuquerque Area


Grabbing some popcorn, snuggling up under a blanket, and letting the film roll is one of my favorite parts of summer. This year, the Albuquerque area has some fun movie-going options for cheap–and some even free. So grab the kids and your favorite movie snack, and head out to experience the magic of movies with the whole fam in our wonderful city.

Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse

Cinemark is offering an 8-week program of recently released G and PG movies for kids of all ages. All movies are $1.50 plus $1 off deals on movie snacks. Reserve your seat before the show. Check out the schedules below.

Premier Cinemas | Rio Rancho :: Summer Kids Series

Premier Cinemas in Rio Rancho is offering $25 private theatre rental for up to 25 guests on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10am to that week’s kids’ movie. There will also be limited general showings for these summer movies throughout each week for only $.50 per person. Make sure to get your tickets in advance. Check out the schedule below:

Regal Summer Movie Express

Another great option for recent G and PG films being offered at a very low price. All summer movies are $1 and begin at 10am on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Both movies play on both days. The same movies are offered at both of the following theaters.

Movies in the Park :: Albuquerque

Movies in the Park returns for the summer of 2021 on June 5! Bernalillo County is sponsoring these free summer movies. Movies in the Park will require a reserved ticket this year, which is good for up to 6 people. Bring a blanket and a lawn chair, and enjoy a movie outside. All shows begin at dusk. Events are subject to cancellation due to weather. Food trucks will be available to you on-site, but you are also welcome to pack your own food or drinks.
