“Returning to work is something many new parents must contend with after the birth of a child. Choosing the right child-care provider for their infant can be an emotional and daunting task. We understand that and designed a nurturing, world-class environment that inspires confidence and calm in parents and infants alike.”

Tina Patel, Founder/Director of Montessori ONE Academy

Like most mamas, I had to return to work after the birth of my daughter at 6 weeks postpartum. I was filled with excitement and anxiety that first day back. Looking for high-quality child care can be challenging enough, but trying to find a place for such a little baby is nearly impossible.

Montessori ONE Academy recently opened their Nido program, thus providing Albuquerque parents another option for infant care. The Nido serves babies ages 6 weeks to 14 months in a loving, nurturing, and supportive home environment. Nido is Italian for “nest.” In following with Montessori philosophy, Montessori ONE has intentionally designed a beautiful, bright environment to promote independence, while nurturing the parent-child relationship. Parents are welcome to attend when they are available. In addition, nursing mothers are provided with private space to nurse or express on-site.

Infants learn sign language to aid in their self-expression. Spanish is also introduced as groundwork for second language acquisition. Along with language development, the Nido also focuses on social development, fine motor development, and gross motor development. Once your child ages out of the Nido, they can transfer to the toddler preschool program at Montessori ONE to continue their education.
