Our Team’s Top Ten Newborn Essentials

0

Oh, that precious newborn time with those sweet baby cuddles and the impossible-to-replicate perfect smelling head. But we know those newborn days aren’t all bliss. We also can’t forget those sleepless nights and poo explosions.

And don’t forget all the STUFF. Why does it seem that the smallest humans need the most stuff? Or do they?

Albuquerque newborn essentials, ABQ MomMaybe that list of baby items could be paired down a bit. Our team put our heads together, and here’s our list of the essential newborn items.

ABQ Mom Team’s Newborn Essentials

Solly Wrap

Brittany is a big fan of the silky soft and lightweight Solly Wrap. And we all agree that a quality baby carrier is high up on the list of necessary baby gear. Keeping baby close is so important. And when you’re wearing baby, you can use your arms. Win win!

Cloth Diapers

April readily admits it’s been a long time since she’s had a newborn. But she highly recommends cloth diapering. We’ve recently discovered a new cloth diaper service here in Albuquerque called Cottontails Cloth Diapering Service. They might be of help if you decide to embark on the cloth diapering journey.

Butt Spatula

This one might seem a little unconventional. However, Charlie says it’s a must-have. She uses a butt spatula religiously because she hates the feeling of diaper cream under her fingernails.

Elvie Portable Breast Pump

If you need to pump, Erin recommends the Elvie Portable Breast Pump. It’s silent, can be worn inside a bra, and best of all, hands-free!

Belly Bandit Belly Wrap

Roxanne wanted to include one for the moms. She recommends a Belly Wrap from Belly Bandit to help support your belly, waist, and hips during the postpartum period.

Lou Lou CO Swaddle Blankets

Lou Lou Co promises the perfect swaddle. And their items are beautiful to boot. Roxanne says here 1-year-old still loves these blankets.

Letsfit White Noise Machine

Angelica is a big proponent of a sound machine. We like the Letsfit White Noise Machine because of its affordability and its soft nightlight.

Boppy Newborn Lounger

Nicole recommends the Boppy Newborn Lounger for those times when you need to set baby down. You can lounge baby right next to you wherever you are in the house.

Lenny Lamb Ring Sling

We’ve already established that a good baby carrier is a non-negotiable. Here’s another option. Mandie loves a good ring sling for babywearing. She recommends the Lenny Lamb Ring Sling.

Nested Bean Wrap

Paige, Erin, and I all recommend a velcro swaddle of some sort. They help lots of babies sleep better because they prevent the startle reflex from waking them up. A great option is the Nested Bean Wrap.

We’d love to know what items you think are newborn essentials. Let us know in the comments!
